Costata Romanesca abd Cocozelle von Tripolis are heirloom zucchinis from Italy that is juicy and sweet-nutty flavored. Actually very tasty when eaten at 15 to 18 (35-45cm) inches long, they are the few types of zucchinis that remains tender and flavorful even when it is large.
These distinctive zucchinis are medium gray-green, with pale green flecks and prominent ribs, especially the Costata Romanesca. Cocozelle von Tripolis has less ribs and has a more smooth surface. Big, large-leafed, semi-vining plants with only about half the yield of hybrids, but much better flavor; clearly better textured, nutty, and delicious, raw or cooked.
"I like to let the fruits grow gigantic (they don’t get spongy!) & then cut them into rounds & throw them on the grill. The grilled patties make the yummiest sandwiches, just get a good loaf of bread, slather it with pesto, add a patty & sprinkle with parmesan." -comment by a big fan of these zucchinis
One unit = one zucchini, pattern on zucchini may slightly differ from photo.
